Communications From Abroad - December 2008
Namaste Niki,
I am very happy to see your email today. We are happy to hear that your Thanks Giving holiday was wonderful and enjoyable. We will be distributing the stuffs with in this week as Dil have the holiday and I will report you the expenses of this month.
Thank you for that I am always be in your rememberance. How is your husband doing? I am using the medicine for now and I am avoiding all the cold.
About the Fulmaya they have went to the far to their village and started living there without any information. About her son Santosh, he came back from Bashishar and has started working in jeep as money collector in Bandipur. So this time this family has made me trouble. That is why we have not mention any thinngs for this family, nor clothes nor fooding. Because they have not thought about us that we are helping them and they went without any information. That is why we have not mention anything for them.
What do you say for this situation?
Well, two girls are doing very well in their training and I have been visiting to them every day and absorbing their training. They are also regular to their school too.
Here we use Windows. Yeah, I know that shipping is very expensive. But I did not understand about India? (in reference to Nichole's inquiry to the types of laptops available in India). It is also be better that if we can buy here in Nepal (Ktm) before Christmas because I am hoping to make this Christmas special. If you send the US$1,000 then here it will be Nrs. 80,000 now. This will be enough for the good laptops here. What do you say about this? Anyway it is up to you.
It is getting darker here. Now I have to leave.

Namaste Niki,
How are you and how is your family? I am sorry to write you late because the internet was not working since last Sunday because of the telephone network problem.
We have distributed the clothes and the food stuffs last Sunday but I was not able to write you on that day. We were supposed to distribute the clothes and the food on Thursday but because the families did not come on that day we have distributed on Sunday. Here the children are very happy to get the school sweater and the woolen gloves and socks and the jackets. They are thanking you very much. I have even told them that we will also provide them the woolen caps and the woolen shawls soon. Here the printer is not working so it is being delayed.
I have told the children to write the question to you and they are happy to do this. But as I am visiting the children these days, they have already written their questions for you. Wow! They are very excited and very happy. They are sending you lots of love and Nepali greetings "Namaste".

Namaste Niki,
Thank you very much for your all efforts that you are doing for the DHF, even though you are sick. I RESPECT YOU AND HONOR YOU. I am sorry to hear about that stone in your kidney and the pain in your pelvic bone. Here Dil and I are always praying for you and for your family, so there is God that will keep you safe and gives you his protection.
Here in Nepal the economy is getting much better than last year. Two days ago the oil price has just dropped down and as the Finanace Minister has spoken that with some time it will again come to the same price it has some years back. So hopefully it is working well. The government has also increase the commission for the old age people.
Hey I have one good news that today it has been one month completed of the two girls of their sewing training. So today in the morning I called up for the training master and both girls (Samundra and Sushila) to my house and I gave the master the monthly payment of Rs. 1,000 in front of them so that they can understand the value of the money and the training too. Dil and I gave advice to them and to the master too for that he can teach well. They have finished sewing the Bhoto and now they are learning for the Cholo. They are doing very well on it.
About Santosh, I am not able to meet him these days. I think that he is staying with his family even though that he is working in Jeep.

Namaste Niki,
First of all Happy Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2009. How was your Christmas Celebration? I have just returned from the Dumre celebrating the Christmas in my church. We had a very nice time there with all the worshippers. We have enjoyed very much there. But you know that I was sad because we, Dil and I, planned to celebrate the Christmas in Bandipur together as a family, but unfortunately she has to go to the KTM from the seminar from her school and she have to take the exam for her to get the certificate for teaching. All this week I have not seen my mother but today I am happy that I am going to see her again because she has just back from her seminar and exam. But anyway I enjoyed this Christmas well and fine. The next thing is that we are also going to stay the whole night with our youth in church for celebrating the new year. There we are planning to stay the whole night watching movies and praying and doing lots of fun together.
I hope and pray that you are alright and also your family. Here everything is going very well and the girls are also doing great in their training. The families are also well too. But we have the bad news that Tilak has got married with new wife from Chitwan and they are living together here in Bandipur in his house.
I am waiting for your email and love to hear about the Christmas celebration that the American people do there.
See you in next email,
Bijay, DHF Bandipur
