Namaste Niki Ji,

Here in Nepal these days the Maoists are taking over different land in different places in the country. The last 2 weeks in a place called Kailali in the Terai the Maoists have taken over the government in a a big part of the forest and because of that the Nepal government uses Army forces to clear the forest of those people. During that time there were wars between the Maoists and the Army. In that war, as I have heard, 5 people were killed including one Army person. These days Maoists are taking over the land but I am not very sure if they are taking it in Tanahun also.

About the orphanage construction, it is on hold for now because we don't have enough money. We are instead trying to use the funds you send to pay back what we owe for the work that the workers have done so far. We are paying interest each month along with what we owe since we must take loans.

I am very sorry that the camera is not working when I try to use it with the computer to send you the photos of the construction. It is all in the camera and I haven't deleted it so that I can show you when you come back to visit. The camera is also giving me a lot of problems so please try to send some money to repair it.

Here we are all safe so please don't worry about us. Here it is also growing cold a lot and my nose is giving me problems again with the sinusitis. It gives me pain.

Hey, how is the baby? Can he walk now? Does he try to speak? Say hello to him and "Namaste".

By the way, Happy Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010. Bye and take care!

Bijay
