Check on sarisAfter last night's meeting I received an invitation to dinner at the house of the woman who wants to start the orphanage. They also stopped by during dinner to say hello and rather "they" being the woman and her son. She wanted to introduce me to him since he speaks better English than she does. Ramsaram, Lydia and myself are accompanying her and her son Saturday at 7pm for dinner. I have created the forms I will need, for now anyway, to assess the "orphanage" and children. We begin the work at 8am on Friday. It will be along day spent walking and riding around in a bumpy jeep possibly.
I've also got to evaluate the hospital and work things out with Tony as to possibly getting funding directed towards it. So far I've got 3 Bandipur "investments" I must discuss when I get back to Chicago. I will need to find grants, business licenses, etc. in order for travel back and forth to Nepal to be covered as a business expense to take care of these "investments".
I am anticipating the reaction from my husband and family about the things that have been happening out here. It must be overwhelming for them to hear of these things only through email. I am just going with the wind as well as my smarts. I knew there would be something big coming and I knew that I would not be in as much control of what I was supposed to do out here as I thought. The agenda given by GVI does not in anyway compare to the one I have created for myself. I like my schedule anyway. I've accomplished more than GVI thinks was supposed to be accomplished.
I enjoy what I do.
